Crafted by Quỳnh, a 6th generation Vietnamese potter and one of the few artists dedicated to creating handmade teapots in the historic ceramic village of Bát Tràng, Việt Nam.
This adorable pumpkin shaped teapot features an arc lid, handle and spout that emulate the texture of wood, and a built-in strainer. Quỳnh uses a proprietary blend of local red clay and Chinese red clay, and fires in high heat– resulting in a deep, rich chestnut brown/red hue.
When brewing, the pot's unglazed and porous interior enhances the silkiness and flavors of a variety of teas, particularly highly oxidized oolong teas, black teas, and sheng-style dark teas.
We love this pot for everyday use and encourage you to do so too as the porous nature of the teapot absorbs the tea's oils, slowly developing a beautiful patina similar to a well-seasoned cast iron skillet.
The level of quality found in Quỳnh's creations is a rare find. His teapots represent a blend of traditional techniques with a modern artistic sensibility in Vietnamese teaware. Each tea pot is a vessel for tea and a work of art. We're excited to bring these exceptional teapots to you, designed for those who appreciate meticulous craftsmanship in their teaware.
